Entergy Providing Refunds to Residential Customers
Entergy Texas will provide a fuel refund to most residential customers in early 2025, averaging $18 over three months. Due to lower 2024 natural gas prices, bill credits will be automatically applied from February through April. Read more here!
Chevron Layoffs
Chevron plans to cut 15-20% of its workforce by 2026, affecting thousands globally. It’s unclear how many Houston employees will be impacted. The company aims to streamline operations and enhance competitiveness. Read more here!
Port Arthur Raises Water Rates
Port Arthur City Council approved a water rate hike—5.6% for residents, 11.5% for businesses—due to a deficit. Mayor Bartie says infrastructure repairs require $2 billion over the next decade. Read more here!
SETX Mardi Gras Schedule 2025
Mardi Gras Southeast Texas kicks off at its new home, Doggett Ford Park, from February 28 to March 2, 2025. Expect lively parades, concerts, and family-friendly fun. Parking and large parade viewing are free, while tickets for "Party on the Plaza" and arena concerts are available online or at the box office. Read more here!
