Tugboat Island Rebuilt After 30 Years

The $1 million Tugboat Island playground was rebuilt in 14 days with community volunteers. Fundraising and major donations made the 20,000-square-foot park possible. Read more here!

Nederland Heritage Festival Draws Big Crowds

The 52nd Nederland Heritage Festival kicked off with packed crowds, carnival rides, food, and entertainment. Running through Sunday, it features a parade, crawfish races, and community fundraising. Read more here!

Rainbow Bridge Closure

With the Rainbow Bridge closing March 21 for 18 months, first responders from Port Arthur and Orange County are coordinating efforts to minimize emergency response delays using a joint dispatch strategy. Read more here!

Lamar Falls Short in Southland Final

Lamar University lost 63-54 to McNeese in the Southland Championship, struggling with second-half shooting. Alexis Marmolejos and Andrew Holifield led LU, both earning All-Tournament honors. McNeese will move on to compete in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Read more here!
