The City of Port Arthur Has a Water Leak
Port Arthur officials ask residents and local businesses to be conservative on water use. A few ways you can help do this are taking shorter showers, running full dishwashers, and turning off your sink when brushing your teeth. Read more here.
Power Outages in Jasper
The City of Jasper announced planned power outages for its residents on Sunday, December 8th. This is due to scheduled maintenance. The expected time is between midnight to 6 am. Read more here.

The Golden Apple Awards hosted by 12News is looking for teacher nominations for this holiday season. A few winners from the previous Teacher Appreciation Week are:

Ornament-Making Event
The Port Arthur Public Library is hosting an ornament-making event this Tuesday at the Lucy Stiefel Gallery from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. All supplies are included, so show up and have fun! Read more here.
Bad Weather Spoils Christmas Events (For Now!)
Due to rainy weather this past weekend, several events were canceled. Some canceled events are Silsbee’s Fire Department Parade, Port Neches’ Light up the Avenue, Shangri La Botanical Gardens’ Christmas Stoll, Nederland’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Light up Vidor. I will share any reschedules or updates throughout the week! Read more here.

Port Neches’ Light Up The Avenue: Wednesday, December 11th, from 5 pm to 8:30 pm

PNG Falls to South Oak
The Indians took on the Bears for the third time in three years in Nacogdoches. The reigning state champions lost a hard-fought game to the Bears, 14-56. The Bears
advance to the state finals for the fourth year. Read more here.
Texas and SMU Are In
The CFB playoffs are around the corner with its first-ever 12-team format.
No. 11 SMU will face No. 6 Penn State next Saturday, December 21st @ 12 pm
No. 5 Texas will face No. 12 Clemson next Saturday, December 21st @ 4 pm
